Museum of History and the Future

The architecture competition for Turku's Museum of History and the Future ended with an impressive total of 401 proposals. OSUMA architects was in the prize category and received an honorary mention with their proposal Khronos.

“The proposal does not attempt to integrate with the existing milieu and buildings. Rather, it spreads a wide theatre-like curtain to conceal the new building. However, the hem of the curtain is raised at the entrances to allow the public to enter. The curtain is made of gold- or copper-coloured perforated metal sheet. It plays with the shapes of the sails and bow of a ship.” - Competition jury

Architect Aki Hiltunen.
